FAQs
What is microblading?
Microblading is a tattooing technique in which a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin, while creating 3D hairlike strokes with every pass. Typically lasts 2 years with an annual touch-up recommended.
How do I prepare for my microblading service?
Do not work out 24 hours before procedure
NO alcohol or caffeine 48 hours before procedure (including tea)
Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure
Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure
Avoid fish oil, prenatal vitamins, nutritional shakes (Shakeology, etc), “Hair, Skin, Nail” supplements 48 hours prior to procedure
Discontinue Retin-A at least 4 weeks prior (and avoid on eyebrow area after procedure)
Refrain from use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks prior (and avoid on eyebrow area after procedure)
Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided 1 month prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables
No brow waxing, tinting, or threading one week prior - the more natural hair growth you have, the better
Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion or facials for 4-weeks prior procedure
What is the aftercare for microblading?
Keep the the brow area clean by using a natural fragrance-free gel cleanser (such as Cetaphil) and water. Hands must be freshly clean. Avoid use of abrasive washcloths or sponges.
Allow eyebrows to completely air dry before applying ointment. Apply the after care ointment given (for the amount of days recommended by your artist) with freshly washed hands or a Q-Tip.
DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss!
COMPLETELY avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks after your procedure. Direct sunlight can cause the pigment to change color while it is healing and can also cause hyper pigmentation and scarring.
Avoid pool, sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and/or hot baths for 3 weeks.
Avoid sweating for a full 10 days. Any physical effort, gym, hot weather, any other activity that may cause sweating through or on the brows will expel pigment from the dermis producing poor results.

What is lamination?
Lamination is a 3-step treatment meant to straighten out the brow hair, for a cleaner, more uniformed shape. Typically lasts between 4-6 weeks with proper aftercare.
How do I prepare for my lamination service?
Arrive to your appointment with clean, moisturized skin, free of makeup and pressed powders
For optimal results, avoid trimming, threading, waxing, or plucking for up to 4 weeks prior
If you plan on showering on the date of your service, be sure to do so before your appointment as you’re required to avoid water on your brows for 24-48 hours following the treatment
What is the aftercare for lamination?
Aftercare is extremely important following this service as poor aftercare, in extreme cases, can result in the loss of brow hair.
Do not wet your eyebrows for 24-48 hours
Avoid touching the brow area at the risk of transferring oils
Do not apply makeup to the brows for 24 hours post-treatment
Do not apply Retin A, aha or exfoliate the brow area for 72 hours before or after the treatment
No self-tanner products should be used on the face for at least 48 hours post-treatment
Apply Von Prisk Brow Conditioner daily (I suggest twice a day, in the morning & before bed)
Comb the hairs into place each day
It is recommended to schedule brow lamination treatments 6 weeks apart
Am I a candidate for lamination?
Lamination is not recommended for clients who:

rosacea
eczema

Note: With lamination a patch test is recommended at least 24 hours before your service to ensure you aren’t allergic to any of the products. It takes about 30 seconds where we apply a small dot of the products behind your ear; However, if you want to bypass the patch test to receive your service same-day, there’s a waiver you can sign instead.
